1. Power off the controller.
2. Disconnect the tubing from the pumps.
3. Unscrew and remove the plastic cover from the pumps.
4. Starting from the left side of the pump, grab the tubing and rotate the pump rotor manually to the right, until the tubing is removed.5. Take the new tubing and place it on the left side of the pump and start to manually rotate the pump rotor to the right until the tubing is on the pump
6. Fix the plastic holder in its place on the right and left side7. Place the plastic cover. Reattach the tubings to the pumps.
Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
Step 1: Purge and Disconnect
- Go to the controller menu and manually run the pump with the intake line lifted out of the chemical tank. Run it until the line is filled with air to purge remaining liquid.
- Disconnect the controller from its main power source.
- Unscrew the plastic compression fittings on the bottom of the pump head to disconnect the external suction and discharge lines.
Step 2: Open the Pump Cover
- Locate the transparent plastic cover over the pump head.
- Unsnap or unscrew the protective cover to expose the internal peristaltic assembly.
Step 3: Remove the Old Tubing
- Manually rotate the central roller impeller while gently pulling the left side of the old tube upward out of its slot.
- Rotate the roller further to release the center of the tube, then pull the right side out.
- Properly discard the old stretched tube.
Step 4: Apply the Silicone Oil
The small tube of silicone oil included in your Hanna BL120-300 Tubing Kit prevents the new rubber from sticking, cracking, or breaking under mechanical friction.
- Place a few drops of silicone oil directly onto your gloved fingers.
- Lightly smear a thin, even coat of oil along the exterior surface of the new rubber tube where the rollers will make contact.
- Note: Do not put oil inside the tube. You can also place a drop on the roller wheels themselves to ensure they spin freely.
Step 5: Install the New Tubing
- Push the left plastic fitting of the new BL120 Tubing firmly down into its designated left slot on the pump casing.
- Manually rotate the roller impeller counter-clockwise while guiding the oiled tube around the top curvature of the assembly.
- Anchor the right plastic fitting into the corresponding right slot on the pump casing.
Step 6: Reassemble and Prime
- Snap the transparent cover back into position.
- Reconnect your external suction and discharge hoses using the plastic compression fittings.
- Plug the controller back into power, turn it on, and run a priming cycle to verify that liquid moves smoothly through the line without any leaks.
