⚠️ Important: Follow the order of operations exactly. If steps are skipped or the timing is not followed, the firmware will not update from V1 to V2 and the system will not operate properly with the new Gen 2 chiller.
1) Offboard Plunge from the App
Open the Plunge app.
Tap the Products tab (bottom right corner).
Select the Plunge that needs to be removed.
Tap the three horizontal dots below the Supplies button.
Tap Product Settings.
Tap Remove Product.
NOTE: Customer needs to offboard Plunge from their Plunge app for tech to onboard and update firmware after Gen 2 chiller install
2) Power On Plunge
Press the reset button on the GFCI plug.
Leave the Plunge powered ON for at least 1 minute.
Note: The 1-minute ON period is required. If skipped, the firmware update will not apply.
3) Power Off Plunge
On the UI, pause the chiller.
Press the reset button on the GFCI plug to power off.
Leave the Plunge OFF for at least 1 minute.
4) Power On Plunge Again
Press the reset button on the GFCI plug.
The Plunge is now ready for re-onboarding.
5) Onboard Plunge to the App
Open the Plunge app.
Tap the “+” button in the top right corner.
Follow the onboarding instructions in the app.
6) Confirm Firmware Update (2.2+)
Force quit the Plunge app.
Reopen the app.
Tap the Products tab (bottom right).
Select the Plunge.
Tap the three horizontal dots below Supplies.
Tap Product Settings.
Confirm that the firmware version is 2.2 or higher.
7) Offboard Plunge for Customer Onboarding
Open the Plunge app.
Tap the Products tab (bottom right).
Select the Plunge.
Tap the three horizontal dots below Supplies.
Tap Product Settings.
Tap Remove Product.
✅ This ensures the Plunge is ready for the customer to onboard themselves using their own app account.
