Remove Rear Cover
|
|
Disconnect Water Filter Assembly
- Wrap the hex bolt driver in a towel or rag to protect the plastic nut from damage.
- Locate the notched corner of the plastic nut securing the water filter housing and align the wrapped hex bolt driver with the notch.
-
Loosen the Plastic Nut by using a rubber mallet or hammer and GENTLY TAP the end of the wrapped driver
- Once the nut is loose enough, finish unthreading it by hand.
- Use one hand to support the bottom of the water filter housing as the nut is removed.

Disconnect Electrical Components
|
|
Remove E-Box Mounting Nuts
- Cut 2 zip ties securing the power cord to the frame near the electrical box.
- Using an 8mm hex driver, remove the 4 mounting nuts securing the e-box to the tub.
|
|
Move E-box Behind TH-1 Manifold
-
After removing the 4 mounting nuts, gently lower the e-box from its mounted position.
-
Pull the TH-1 manifold forward slightly to create room behind it.
-
Carefully move the e-box behind the TH-1 manifold.
-
Once positioned, allow the e-box to rest securely behind the TH-1 manifold against the tub basin.
🚨Make sure the UI ribbon cable and other wires do not snag or catch on any components.
|
|
Remove UI
-
Locate the ribbon cable connected to the back of the UI.
-
Push the wing tabs on the ribbon cable connector apart—one up and one down—to release the cable.
-
Gently remove the ribbon cable and tuck it safely behind the TH-1 manifold.
-
Using a 7mm hex driver (flex-head recommended), remove the four nuts securing the UI to the tub—two on each side.
-
As you loosen the final nut, support the UI from the front to prevent it from falling.
-
Once all nuts are removed, carefully pull the UI out of the tub.
-
Set aside and save all nuts and washers for installing the new UI.
|
|
Install UI
-
Place the new UI into the cutout on the front of the tub.
-
Hand-thread all four mounting nuts onto the UI bolts—two on each side.
-
🚨 Ensure the UI is aligned properly and seated securely in the opening.
-
Once all nuts are hand-tightened and the UI is held in place, use a 7mm hex driver to fully tighten each nut.
-
Make sure all fasteners are snug and the UI is firmly secured to the tub.
|
|
Connect Ribbon Cable to UI
-
Retrieve the UI ribbon cable from the electrical box.
-
Position the ribbon cable so that the red stripe is facing down.
-
Insert the cable into the connector on the back of the UI.
-
Once the cable is fully inserted, secure it in place by closing the wing tabs around the ribbon cable.
-
Double-check that the connection is snug and properly aligned.
|
|
Mount & Secure E-box
-
Carefully lift and maneuver the e-box back onto the mounting bolts at the top of the chiller cabinet.
-
Align the e-box with the bolt pattern on the frame and gently seat it into position.
-
Hand-thread all four 10mm mounting nuts onto the bolts to hold the e-box in place.
-
Once all nuts are hand-tightened, use a hex driver to securely tighten each one.
-
Confirm the e-box is firmly mounted and does not move or wobble
|
|
Zip Tie E-box Power Cord
-
Zip tie the power cord near the e-box where the original ties were cut.
-
If you previously cut zip ties on the opposite side of the chiller, route the power cord back along the same path.
-
Run the power cord over the top of the fan to keep it clear of all moving parts and components.
-
Use additional zip ties as needed to ensure the cord is secure and snug along the frame.
-
Confirm that the cord is fully supported and not in contact with any sharp edges or moving parts.
|
|
Reconnect Electrical Components
|
|
Reconnect Water Filter Assembly
-
Lift the water filter housing and align it with the threaded post on the tub.
- 🚨 Ensure the two nodes on top of water filter housing line of with two cutouts where the water filter housing mounts to the tub.
-
Begin threading the plastic nut onto the post by hand, ensuring it is not cross-threaded.
-
Once the nut is hand-tight, wrap a towel or rag around a hex bolt driver to protect the plastic.
-
Place the wrapped driver against one of the nut’s notches and gently tap with a rubber mallet to snug it into place.
-
Apply light, controlled taps until the nut is fully tightened and the water filter housing is secure.
-
Ensure the housing is firmly seated and does not move or shift when lightly pushed.
|
|
Tighten Water Filter Housing Unions
-
Locate the TH-1 manifold union on the right side of the water filter housing.
-
Hand-tighten the union to ensure a secure, leak-free connection.
-
Locate the Flow Meter manifold union on the back side of the water filter housing.
-
Hand-tighten this union as well until it is snug.
⚠️ Do not use tools to tighten—hand-tightening is sufficient and helps prevent damage to the fittings.
|
|
Test for Leaks
⚠️ Warning: The chiller fan is exposed during testing. Keep hands, tools, and loose items away from the fan to avoid injury or equipment damage.
-
Plug in the Plunge and press the “Reset” button on the GFCI plug to power it on.
- Set temperature to 50 degrees so pump powers on 100%.
-
Allow the Plunge to run and observe the chiller plumbing union connections.
-
Carefully inspect all union fittings for any signs of leaking while the system is running.
-
If a leak is found, pause the system and recheck that the union is properly seated and hand-tightened.
|
|
Power Down Plunge
- Pause the chiller by pressing the pause button on the UI.
- ⚠️ Powering down the Plunge while it's in a cooling cycle can damage the chiller.
- Once the chiller is in idle mode press the test button on the GFCI outlet to power down the Plunge.
- Unplug the GFCI outlet from the outlet.
🚨 Important: Do not power down the Plunge before pausing the chiller. Powering down the Plunge while it is in a cooling cycle can damage the chiller.
|
|
Test UI for Functionality
- Fill the Plunge up with water so the water line is 6" below the edge of the tub.
-
Plug the Plunge back into the power outlet.
-
Press the Reset button on the GFCI plug to power on the unit.
-
Wait for the startup sequence to complete and confirm that the water temperature displays on the UI screen.
-
Test each UI button to ensure proper functionality:
-
Press the down button and confirm the temperature decreases.
-
Press the up button and confirm the temperature increases.
-
Press the light button and check that the LED light turns on.
-
Press the pause button and confirm the chiller stops running.
-
🚨 Leave Plunge paused when powering down to install rear cover
-
Confirm that all UI buttons respond correctly and the display is working properly.
🚨 Powering down Plunge while it is in a chilling cycle can damage the chiller. Pause chiller before powering down Plunge.
